Initially employed as production engineer,
working within a heavily unionized environment.
Promoted to engineering manager with
responsibility for all DO activities, production
engineering activities and plant procurement
Moved to ‘start up’ company as production
manager. Set up batch manufacturing then added R
& D department. Grew workforce to 220.
Became group Manufacturing Director, developed
company’s outsourcing strategy which included
setting up manufacturing in China plus
outsourced product manufacture to China,
Singapore, India. Set up and managed satellite R
& D operations in Russia, India, China.
Appointed New Business Director, directed global
development and product launches and established
a number of overseas sales subsidiaries. –
helped grow global sales to $150m.
Assisted company sale to large US conglomerate,
spent 12 months integrating businesses with
$25m per annum cost reduction. Appointed as New
Business Director, identified new market sector
which leveraged company technology, produced and
executed business plan. Established $4m t/o
business within 2 years. During this time
absorbed a great deal of knowledge about large
company processes.
